Pyongyang, March 5 (KCNA) -- All the people across the country are significantly marking the 80th anniversary of the promulgation of the Law on Agrarian Reform, full of confidence and optimism about the bright prospect of the socialist countryside to be translated into more beautiful one under the grandiose blueprint unrolled at the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.

President Kim Il Sung set the agrarian reform as the primary task for enforcing overall democratic reforms after the liberation of Korea and promulgated the historic Agrarian Reform Law on March 5, 1946.

The agrarian reform enforcement put an end to the feudal relations of land ownership and the exploitative system in the countryside, enabled the DPRK peasants to greet a dramatic turn in their destiny, leading a worthwhile life as the masters of land and the country, and opened a grand prelude to the Korean-style development of the countryside.

Thanks to the leadership of the WPK which has clearly indicated the road ahead of the countryside and wisely led the struggle for its implementation century after century, the socialist fields have turned into a blessed land of the people and a socialist land where the history of radical change is being ushered in.

A new era of socialist rural development is being ushered in thanks to the wise guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who is devoting his all to successfully turning our countryside into a socialist paradise.

At the sixth and seventh plenary meetings of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK and other important meetings, too, he specified the strategies for ushering in a new era in which the socialist countryside develops rapidly.

Over the past four years since the announcement of the programme for the rural revolution in the new era, over 113 000 modern houses have been built in over 1 860 villages of more than 500 farms across the country, boasting of civilization peculiar to the countryside, and the new agricultural policy of the Party on pushing ahead with rice and wheat farming brings about a proud fruition of high yield every year, clearly demonstrating its validity and vitality. -0-
