UAWK Officials Tour Revolutionary Battle Sites in Area of Mt Paektu

Pyongyang, March 5 (KCNA) -- Officials of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) and officials of its primary organizations from across the DPRK made a study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu from February 26 to March 4.

They toured the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site, Rimyongsu Revolutionary Site, Chongbong Bivouac, Konchang Bivouac, Paektusan Secret Camp, Taehongdan Revolutionary Battle Site, etc.

They laid bouquets before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il at revolutionary battle sites and in Hyesan and Samjiyon cities and paid tribute to the peerlessly great men.

They looked back upon the sacred revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il at his birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp.

At the battle sites of the anti-Japanese war, they cherished the truth that the revolutionary traditions of Paektu are the eternal treasure of the revolution and the only tradition of the Korean revolution that can never be bartered for anything.

Going round the site of campfire, the site of cooking rice and trees bearing slogans, they grasped the noble revolutionary spirit and fighting traits of the fighters who had made long journeys of the bloody anti-Japanese struggle, holding Kim Il Sung in high esteem as the centre of unity and leadership.

The song "We Will Go to Mt Paektu" sung by them at the top of Mt Paektu reverberated throughout the mountain.

They held a resolution-taking meeting at the plaza before the statue of Kim Jong Il in Samjiyon City. -0-
